Veterinarians

  • I was born and raised in Cheyenne, Wyoming. From a young age I always loved animals. Having a dad who was a physician helped me become interested in medicine, and from the time I was in high school I knew I wanted to become a veterinarian. I attended the University of Wyoming for my undergraduate degree in molecular biology, and then went to Colorado State University for my Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. After practicing in Billings for 5 years, I moved to Red Lodge in 2000 and opened Grizzly Peak Animal Hospital in 2001 with Rebecca Frank. My family includes my husband Mike, my late son, Mason, my two daughters, MacKenna and Addison, our two dogs Rose and Ollie, and our two cats Belle and Gizmo. In my spare time, I love to ski, hike, trail run, mountain bike, read, and hang out with my family and friends. I feel lucky to live in this special town that has so much recreation to offer and so many wonderful people!

  • I was born and raised in Billings, Montana. When I was in grade school, I always knew that I would end up working with animals. After pursuing studies in marine biology at the University of Oregon, I decided that Montana was where I wanted to live, and that becoming a veterinarian was my ultimate career goal. I graduated from Colorado State University School of Veterinary Medicine in May of 1996. After working at a high volume, comprehensive, small animal veterinary hospital in Billings, MT for five years, Gretchen and I created Grizzly Peak Animal Hospital in Red Lodge in July of 2001. I am married to Brian Frank and we have two sons named Rockwood and Keith. Our family is completed by two dogs Izze and Bandit, and our two cats Santiago and Lobo. Izze, who is pictured with me, is my “perfect daughter” and an adoptee from Beartooth Humane Alliance of Red Lodge.

Veterinarian Technicians

  • Growing up on a farm in Iowa is where I discovered at an early age I had a sympathetic heart for all unloved, sick, and injured animals thus wanting to give them medical care, love, and comfort. I graduated from Parkland College of Veterinary Technology in Champain-Urbana, Illinois. Post graduation, I was able to do what I loved for a job and joined the staff at Veterinary Surgical Referral outside Chicago, Illinois. Realizing I needed to be closer to my family, I accepted a position at the University Of Iowa College Of Medicine and then the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics Transplant Program before moving to Red Lodge in 1999 and joining the newly opened Grizzly Peak Animal Hospital Staff in 2001.

My family includes my husband Jim, daughter Maelyn, and son Bannack, who keep me busy along with our three cats, dog, chinchillas, bird, and horses. I am fortunate to sit on the board of directors for the Beartooth Humane Alliance and always look forward to donating my time and skills to their annual spay and neuter clinic. In my free time, I love being with my family and friends, skiing, reading, timing ski races, gardening, camping, traveling, spending time with my nieces and nephews, along with volunteering for other non-profit organizations that help make this town an amazing place to raise a family.

  • I was born and raised in Red Lodge, Montana and knew I had a love for animals at a very young age. I always had dogs growing up and loved working with the sheep and cows out on my grandparent’s place. As soon as I graduated high school in 2020, I knew I wanted to become involved in the veterinary world. I attended the Pima Medical Institute in Dillon, Montana for their Veterinary Technician Program and I just recently graduated in May of 2022 with an Associate Degree of Applied Science. In my free time I enjoy hiking, baking new recipes, and spending time with my dog Maisey.
